1. Information Collection

We do not require users to create an account to browse the API directory. The API directory is completely open and free to use. If you choose to submit a new API through our submission forms, we may collect your email address purely for communication purposes regarding the submission.

2. Cookies and Tracking

We do not use privacy-invasive tracking cookies (e.g., Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel). We rely on Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and does not track individual users across sites.

3. Third-party Links

Our directory contains links to third-party API providers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. Please review their privacy policies before signing up or providing personal information to them.

4. Browser Extension (Free AI API)

Our Chrome extension is designed to keep your data on your device.

Local storage only. The API keys you save, your chat conversations, and your settings are stored solely in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device except as described below.

Bring your own key (BYOK). When you run or verify an AI API, your API key and prompt are sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you selected (for example OpenRouter or Cloudflare). These requests do not pass through our servers. The API catalog is fetched from freeaiapi.org and carries no personal data or API keys.

Permissions. The extension requests access to a provider's domain only at the moment you choose to call that API — one domain at a time, inside your own click. It never browses or accesses websites on its own. From the extension's Settings page you can review and revoke granted domains, export your keys, or clear all stored data. Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data.

No collection or tracking. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to your API keys, prompts, or conversations, and we never use them for advertising or sell them to third parties.
